FAQ

Is it possible to diagnose on-line?

During the lock down many physiotherapists have turned to on-line consultations with great success. A key part of the consultation is the history taking of the patient, what we call the subjective. Through this, a diagnosis can usually be made and advice given.

What are the best running shoes to buy?

This is very personal and the best recommendation is to buy shoes that fit well and are comfortable. Some runners may benefit from a certain type of shoe. For example, those with hallux rigidus ( big toe lacking extension) would usually suit a stiffer shoe, those with Achilles issues would normally favour a shoe with a reasonable heel drop and those with a foot issue such as metatarsalgia may prefer a cushioned shoe.

Running is bad for the knees, right?

WRONG! Recent research shows that runners are LESS prone to osteoarthritis than non-runners. The impact thickens the cartilage and bones.
